Melwood Global worked as a strategic communications advisor in 2013 with the Gloucester Fishing Community Preservation Fund, a nonprofit organization serving the full-time fishing community in historic Gloucester, Massachusetts. Melwood worked closely with former Attorney General Scott Harshbarger, who was brought in to perform an independent analysis of the Fund’s management and operations after a series of media reports questioned the use of funds meant for local fishermen. Melwood aided the fund and its members with key messaging, media relations and helped craft the narrative of the final report and findings. The fund continued on after the report and continues to work on behalf of fishermen and women in the Gloucester area.
