Poon Singhatiraj joins Melwood Global as a third-year co-op from Northeastern University with experience in research, writing, community outreach, and social media.

Poon hails all the way from Thailand, but he has also spent time living in the United States. His global upbringing led him to pursue a Bachelors of Arts in International Affairs with minors in political science and history. He is a passionate writer, especially in the realms of politics and international development.

Before joining Melwood, he was the deputy opinions section editor for The Huntington News, Northeastern’s independent student-led newspaper. Additionally, he was the public relations officer at Northeastern University Thai Society, an organization dedicated towards creating a cultural community for Thai people living in Boston.

In his free time, you can find Poon doing The New York Times’ daily Crosswords Puzzle, taking long walks throughout Boston, or looking at photos of his three cats.
