David Guarino - Partner
David Guarino is one of the leading media, communications and public affairs professionals in the region, with 17 years of experience as a daily newspaper reporter and communicator for the top leaders in Massachusetts.
David brings an array of strong personal relationships with key media government, business, civic and legal influencers, including the top reporters, columnists, editors and producers, Governor Deval Patrick, Speaker Robert DeLeo, Senate President Therese Murray, Attorney General Martha Coakley, Treasurer Steve Grossman, Mayor Thomas Menino, the Congressional delegation and countless local leaders. He also has strong connections with advisors and key staff in each office and throughout the business community.
He comes to Melwood Global after two years as a Vice President and Director of Public Affairs for MSL Boston, a leading strategic communications firm, where he worked with government, corporate, non-profit and institutional clients on the full range of public affairs and communications challenges. Prior to that, he served for two years as deputy chief of staff and director of communications to the Massachusetts Speaker of the House after serving the two previous years as director of communications for the Office of the Attorney General.
David spent 12 years as a daily newspaper reporter. He was chief political reporter, State House and City Hall Bureau Chief for The Boston Herald, where he covered two presidential campaigns. Earlier, David wrote for The Sun in Lowell and The MetroWest Daily Newsin Framingham. David also offers extensive experience as a spokesman and broadcast commentator, appearing on CNN, MSNBC, C-Span, and all of Boston’s TV and radio media.
A graduate of Northeastern University, David is a member of the non-profit Board of Directors of The Huntington News, the independent student newspaper at his alma mater and is active in community issues in his hometown of Salem, Mass. |
