In 2005, Melwood's founders coordinated and planned messaging after the kidnapping of aid worker Clementina Cantoni in Afghanistan.

Prior to Melwood Global’s inception, Melwood's founders worked with Afghanistan's Drug Enforcement Administration to orchestrate the largest drug burning in the country’s history.
