Melwood has also worked for several years in advancing public understanding of the importance of early detection for children with autism. Working with Community Services for Autistic Adults and Children in the Washington, DC area, the nation’s oldest and largest services provider in this field, Melwood has consistently garnered media attention to this important issue. Parallel to this campaign, Melwood has built messaging on the importance of inclusion for people with autism, and the importance of providing work, study and recreational opportunities for individuals with autism.
